A new system of thinking was developed during the Renaissance, it was the
Scientific Method. Even though there was simpler version already, new ideas
developed along with a new Scientific Method. It was basically a new way of
thinking and of approaching problems. Observation and experimentation,
Inductive reasoning, which was then incorporated with deductive reasoning
to distinguish "laws of connectivity." These ideas of inductive
and deductive reasoning eventually became "the pathway of
learning."
This new scientific method affected the Renaissance socially
because of the way it influenced many people of that time. For example, by
changing the way they figured things out, new ideas formed and more
discoveries were made.
This picture, or diagram, of the solar
system was the start of the idea of a heliocentric solar system. This idea
was first thought of by Nicholas Copernicus. He proposed that the Sun was
stationary and the Earth rotated around it. He challenged the original idea
of a geocentric system, which was widely believed at that time. This means
many people believed that the Sun, Moon and stars all orbited the Earth not
the other way around. So, when Copernicus proposed this knew thought people
didn't to listen to and believe him because that would mean that all they
knew about the universe was untrue.
Copernicus' discovery mainly affected people socially. They were
affected this way because people were unsure what to believe and were
questioning many things. This caused people to talk and change the
knowledge of everyone of the Renaissance time.
The invention of the printing press helped to spread many new ideas. The
printing press helped to make the world more literate and connected. One of
the most read books was the Bible, therefore Bibles could be printed or
translated faster than before helping business and the knowledge of the
people or person reading it.
As demand for books went up so did business. This helped the economy
greatly because of the amount of books being produced, sold and bought by
the renaissance people.
